The Barolo DOCG "Ginestra Casa Maté" by Elio Grasso is a Piedmontese red wine of great elegance and complexity, produced exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the prestigious Ginestra cru in Monforte d'Alba. The vines, about 40 years old, grow on calcareous-clayey soils at an altitude of 300-350 meters, with southern exposure .
After fermentation in steel at a controlled temperature, the wine ages for 30 months in 25-hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels, followed by aging in the bottle for 8-10 months . It has an intense ruby red color tending towards garnet with aging. On the nose it offers a complex bouquet of ripe red fruit (cherry, raspberry), dried flowers, mint and dark spices. On the palate it is robust, structured and elegant, with present but well-integrated tannins and a lively freshness.
