Pio Cesare was born in 1881 and today with about 70 hectares of vineyards with vineyards located in different areas of Barolo del Barbaresco. The production varies between the "Classici" Nebbioli, the "Single-Vineyard". The Pio Cesare Winery is one of the few remaining in the historic center of the city of Alba.
Built at the end of the 18th century, it is crossed and bounded by the ancient Roman walls of Alba Pompeia, which form its foundations and are visible in every corner of it. It is located on 4 different floors, one of which is even below the level of the Tanaro river. The naturally constant temperatures and the right degree of humidity have been decisive for the style and quality of the wines over the years.
