Lago di Venere was born in 2001 from Zibibbo grapes coming from Pantelleria. This project, strongly supported by Meregalli Giuseppe Srl, was curated by Lorenzo Peira, a renowned oenologist already known for other dessert wines produced in Southern Italy. The grapes, after being dried on the vine, are harvested and taken to the Sicilian cellars to begin winemaking. The winemaker was asked to create a wine that combined the robust structure of a passito with the freshness of a sauternes, and we can confidently say that the result exceeded expectations.
Deep and intense golden yellow colour. On the nose it expresses an intense, broad, slightly aromatic aroma, with a hint of honey. In the mouth it is soft, sweet, warm, round, recalling the olfactory sensations. Excellent at the end of a meal accompanied by typical Sicilian desserts, such as cannoli, Sicilian cassata and almond desserts.
