A wine made from hand-picked grapes from young, spurred cordon-trained vineyards, fermented in stainless steel and wood at a controlled temperature. After malolactic fermentation, it ages for 6-8 months in large oak barrels and a further 6 months in bottle. Ruby red in color with purple highlights, it releases aromas of fresh red fruit such as morello cherry, currant, and blueberry, accompanied by delicate spicy notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with evident yet soft and slightly spicy tannins, good volume, and a long finish. Ideal with cured meats, savory pies, meat-based pasta dishes, porchetta rabbit, and baked fish dishes.
