Igino was the real name of the founder of the Fasoli winery, Gino. This wine is a tribute to his strength of character and personality. One of the Fasoli family's traditions was to gather, regardless of their commitments, for Sunday lunch. The men of the house would compete in a counting contest to determine who would have the thankless task of descending into the depths of the cold cellar to fetch the bottle of wine for the feast day. "Igino" is designed as the wine to be savored on special occasions, of togetherness and conviviality.
COLOR: Deep ruby red.
AROMA: Intense, with hints of undergrowth, tobacco, coffee, and black pepper. Notes of plums, jam, spices, and eucalyptus complete the bouquet.
FLAVOR: Warm and delicately tannic. The palate is vinous and clean. The finish is sweet yet bold, slightly spicy, reflecting the personality of grandfather Igino, after whom it takes its name.
